Description
On June 15, 2024, while eating, she choked and felt that the food was not passing from the esophagus to the stomach.
María is experiencing difficulty swallowing and vomiting.
She went to the hospital and was diagnosed with distal esophageal adenocarcinoma; she was prescribed 10 chemotherapy sessions but completed only three. The side effects affecting her skin and nails were very severe, so she decided to discontinue the chemotherapy.
On July 3, 2024, a biopsy confirmed a diagnosis: distal esophageal neoplasia, poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma.
She contacted me on August 29, 2024, and we identified the underlying biological conflict.
María is a teacher; in September 2023, the school administration assigned her to coordinate the Erasmus project for the 2023/2024 academic year. She was very excited about it.
In early June 2024, the administration reversed its decision and assigned the Erasmus project coordination to another teacher.
María experienced a "prey" biological conflict: she was unable to "swallow" (coordinate) the Erasmus project that she was so excited about.
A cauliflower-like tumor developed in the lower third of her esophageal mucosa, drastically narrowing the esophageal lumen and causing swallowing difficulties; she could only consume very liquid, puréed foods.
During our sessions, we worked on accepting the facts while simultaneously laying the groundwork for personally taking charge of the projects that interest us—thereby preventing our dreams from being killed in the future.
On October 2024, she was able to eat and chew normally, with the exception of red meat.
On March 12, 2025, an endoscopy reveals an ulcerated lesion with a neoplastic appearance that allows the endoscope to pass through easily.
The tumor has undergone necrosis, much of the esophageal lumen has been restored, and swallowing has normalized. Acidic foods irritate the ulcerated epithelium; she avoids lemons, tomatoes, apricots, and cherries.
In May 2025, a healing crisis occurs; she is unable to swallow for three days.
María interprets this as a relapse; the same biological "prey" conflict is reactivated, the belief that she will not be able to regain her health, and she enters the Active Phase once again.
Swallowing difficulties reappear.
On September 17, 2025, a gastroscopy identifies a new polypoid lesion, a polyp; the procedure confirms that the esophageal mucosa is once again in the Active Phase, and in the same location.
We review the Second Biological Law, the law of the two phases of all SBS, and María resolves the second biological conflict; however, the esophageal mucosa has undergone a new tumor, the corresponding necrosis, and mucosal regeneration, and sequelae appear due to scarring from repeated lesions in the same area.
On January 8, 2026, a CT scan revealed a thickening of the esophageal wall, spanning approximately 8 cm in length, and a reduction in the size of the lymph nodes.
María had resolved the second biological conflict; however, the lesions in the esophageal mucosa had left behind scar tissue causing the wall thickening observed on the CT scan, resulting in swallowing difficulties. Although she could tolerate all foods, even lemon juice, she had to consume foods with a very liquid consistency.
On February 27, 2026, an esophageal stent (endoprosthesis) was inserted to widen the esophageal lumen, which had been narrowed by the scarring in the mucosa. Thanks to this procedure, María regained her ability to swallow and could eat and swallow completely normally.
Thank you, Dr. Hamer!
Note:
Providing information and raising awareness about the healing crisis allows one to experience it with serenity, as the accompanying symptoms can be interpreted as signs of healing. María interpreted the Healing Crisis as a worsening of the illness, a relapse, which caused her to re-enter the Active Phase. Because she suffered two processes of tissue alteration in the same area, the initial lesion and the subsequent regeneration, she suffered lasting effects (thickening of the esophageal wall), necessitating the placement of an esophageal stent to normalize swallowing.
