Description

A husband, father and grandfather lost his company due to the circumstances during the Covid years, as a result of giving up.

His company suffered severe drops in revenue as a result of the economic effects of the "pandemic measures", not least because some major clients had dropped him due to his public criticism of the Covid measures.

He saw his assets shrink so sharply (from 3 to 2 million euros) that he pulled the emergency brake, sold the company for little money, suffered further losses due to high tax debts upon the sale, and then, in the course of fleeing to a country with more favorable taxes abroad, experienced further circumstances such as the perception of being a refugee, since quite a few things are indeed different here abroad.

The prices abroad, too, needed to feed his family who had emigrated with him and to get them properly settled, once again gave him food for thought, i.e. reinforced his existential-conflict situation over the course of the last 6 years. He also felt once again like a good-for-nothing*.

As a man 175 cm tall he now weighed a full 124 kg, and his wife, slim herself, advised him to radically change his eating habits and finally move more than just walking the dog for 10 minutes, since otherwise further illnesses might threaten him.

From then on he occasionally played table tennis in a club, to show that he was taking care of himself. One day 2 years ago he suddenly got heart palpitations, was admitted to hospital, since fear about his own heart had already been subtly stirred up. Atrial fibrillation (smooth musculature - fear-for-the-heart conflict, epicrisis). He was hooked up to an ECG and, as a result of the hospital stay, gained another 10 kg within 1 week!!! Fortunately nothing could be found wrong with his heart, and he was discharged with a prescription for nutritional counseling and, since he already knew me as a physiotherapist from an earlier, different problem and consulted me again, also the recommendation of a medical training program over 9 months straight. He quickly lost the last 10 kg again once he was out of the hospital. In a longer conversation explaining the biological healing knowledge, I took away his fear about his heart, and from then on he had the confidence to stop taking the beta-blocker medications that are usually prescribed for life and in an inflationary manner. Now, 2 years later, he is however still exactly as heavy, but happy, and I would say stronger than he has been in years, and he simply doesn't arrive at the final resolution.

In our conversation together we learned that it's hard for him to give up eating the quantity he's used to, and to give up his choice of high-calorie foods. He can't simply break the belief he mentioned to me in passing recently: "I just can't wait until noon for the shared brunch with the family on vacation, otherwise I get aggressive." - "What, you get aggressive? I can't imagine that." - "Well, in any case I feel very uncomfortable." I advised him to go on a longer exploratory walk in the morning once during vacation, to spend the time with a positive distraction from food, and to push back breakfast time a little further day by day, in order to experience that he can manage this. We also learned that going "training" three times a week and playing table tennis several times, even over 2 years, wasn't enough to crack his reserves and lose weight. For me, as a "body therapist", a huge eye-opener that exercise alone is not the key either.

We also discussed that already as a teenager he had the feeling that he alone had to work hard to defend his existence, since his father had always considered him a failure(*1) in these respects, both practically/manually and in general. He also came to me several times in a hanging healing with "lumbago", i.e. a self-devaluation conflict of his lumbar area, which can also be explained by the fact that he experienced "recurrences" of this original conflict. So this theme had already long before also been set as a being-alone conflict, and he steadily became fatter early on, until the situation then turned into existential fear. He experiences the loss of all the assets of his former company, tied to hard effort, as devastating. He also currently often talks about topics connected with financial loss, even when they don't directly concern him. What really gives him joy is entertaining his grandchildren and being a trusted person for them - a proper grandpa, in other words. And that's how he should also enjoy his later years. In theory he wouldn't need to work at all anymore. But he still does, now at his son-in-law's company.

What he already knows: his overweight situation will only improve once he experiences a mental key moment after which he no longer feels existential fear and knows that nothing is lacking and that everyone around him, himself included, will be provided for. I held up to him the paradox of our two situations, namely that he, even though he has far more wealth than I do, lives in an existential fear that exists only as an emotional imprint, but is not real.

All that remains is his perception, distorted by his experiences.

It remains to be seen how his, not yet occurred, healing phase of the kidney collecting tubules will unfold.
