Description
Dear Mr. Eybl
My dog Otto is epileptic.
He was attacked by another dog, completely out of the blue for him, because Rinaldo could no longer find his bone and 'suspected' him. I shouted, and Otto was free again.
Shortly afterward, Rinaldo attacked my little female dog Lesley, also completely out of the blue for her - we had actually just been about to go for a walk. Someone must have taken the bone, Rinaldo probably thought.
About a week later, Otto had his first seizure during a walk. I sat with him and held him until it was over. Since then he has had seizures again and again now and then - track: my shouting, food, Rinaldo, walking, ...
On exactly the same day, Lesley started squinting in her right eye. My daughter pointed it out to me. I held my index finger about 20-30 cm in front of the drifted eye and slowly moved it back toward the center. The eye followed. It then snapped back to the right again, and I repeated this once more with my index finger. This time, when I got back to the center, the eye gave a small jerk, and the eye was back in the correct position. That was pure intuition on my part - lovely how it worked.
Back to Otto:
I recently read that gum overgrowth is linked to epilepsy, and you write that it comes from the medication. My dog never had any medication for it, so it must be directly connected to the epilepsy, at least in my sense of it.
Thank you for your wonderful work, and I wish you continued strength.
Truth exists - why should we settle for less?
Warm regards from Portugal, Astrid
Note from Björn Eybl
Thank you, Astrid, for the case example of Otto.
He experienced Ronaldo's attack as a motor conflict: "I can't run away!" While walking, he went into resolution because he apparently felt safe.
Further seizures occur when a situation reminds him of the attack (= track).
Gum overgrowth can come from epilepsy medications - that's what conventional medicine says.
But perhaps
1. The repeated extreme strain on the dental sockets from the (jaw) seizures is the cause, or
2. perhaps the motor conflict goes along with a biting conflict - which also wouldn't be surprising.
We never stop learning ...
